Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your week is going well. I am so excited to be sharing one of my favorite film engagement sessions with you all this morning. Jenny and Andrew are two of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, especially because I met Andrew when he was like 3 or 4. 😉 When they moved out to Southern California for Andrew to begin his medical school journey I was thrilled to have them close by. Andrew proposed to Jenny over the holidays while on diving trip in Bonaire – raising the bar for everyone! Jenny contacted me for engagement photos shortly after the new year and since our winter in California looks like this, we were able to schedule it right away. The icing on the cake? Their adorable and awesome pup Hans came along and joined in the fun. Dogs on film are almost as awesome as my amazing couples! Their wedding is in Oregon this summer and I may be so excited that I already ordered boxes of film, have a countdown on my desktop and am stalking their venue on social media to dream up some more beautiful shots for these two love birds. I can’t wait!
So here is your daily dose of pretty to get you through the middle of the week blues. 😉 Enjoy!
More film engagement sessions are coming to the blog this week and next. I’m officially hooked guys! I am currently looking for some wedding designers, vendors and a model couple to participate in a styled film shoot in Southern California. Stay tuned for more details!
Also our 10% discount for all wedding collections has been extended through the end of March. If you or someone you know is getting married send me an email at email@example.com 2016 is almost full and 2017 is filling up. I am so thankful for all of my amazing couples and could not be more excited to capture more beautiful moments for you all.
Have a great day everyone!
So this happened this past weekend! Good grief spring is looking mighty fabulous here in SoCal! I so love this couple, their sweet connection and these trees just blew me away. I can’t wait to share the rest. Waiting for film scans is worse than counting down to Christmas these days. 😉 So until then, here is one of my favorites.
Happy new week everyone!
I know that I love on my clients a lot and get mushy when I talk about them. But after the last several months of exhaustion, illness after illness (more on that later), and being burned out it is necessary to give context of why I LOVE my job! I wouldn’t stay up until 2am after a hard day with two sick kids for just any job. I really really look forward to connecting, reliving and fine-tuning the memories that I was lucky enough to capture. Every so often I meet a couple that I absolutely adore and we “click”. Katelyn and Mike are definitely two people that I want to have over for dinners, meet up for coffee and literally talk for hours about relationships, life goals, dogs and kids, work and the life changing events that shape us and who we are in our relationships. Their chemistry, sweet smiles, dedication of moving across the country to build their relationship all told their unique and beautiful story. As many of you know I gave away 3 engagement sessions to kick off the new year and celebrate with some newly engaged people. I am SO thankful that I did because Katelyn emailed me and this happened! (Enter squeals of excitement here!)
I seriously cannot wait for their wedding in June! Two people coming together and starting a new chapter with their close friends and family, twinkle lights and tacos is why I pour that 5th cup of coffee at 8pm and get to work. Thankful and blessed to say the least. <3
Hello all! Happy Wednesday! I cannot believe this busy week is already half way over. I am quite impatient waiting for my film scans to come back so I wanted to share a tiny preview of Lesley & Rob’s Temecula Engagement Session. These hills and trees were too perfect to pass up for Lesley’s vision of open space and rustic surroundings. The clouds provided us with some amazing mood-lighting but when the sun peeked out for 3 minutes, it was perfection! Trust me, there will definitely be more gushing over my best friend and her man, but for now I leave you with a small sampling of my absolute favorites!
If you want to see more of these two, follow me on IG and Facebook for more sneak peeks. You can also see their proposal photos here, as well as their How He Asked feature.
So much happiness! 🙂 Hope you all have a spectacular day!

Excuse me while I explode with excitement over here. FINALLY the biggest secret I’ve ever had to keep is out in the open! My best friend got engaged last week and I could not be any happier for her and Rob. About a month ago, Rob called me and the planning began. I have never been so thrilled (and nervous) to have a “girls day.” Getting Lesley to take the bait to go up to Oak Glen for a photoshoot of her adorable puppy, getting her to the spot and then getting my camera ready in position was one the most heart-pounding experience. I mean, its not every day that you get to help plan and then photograph a surprise proposal for you best friend! Can you tell I’m still really really excited over here?!
Lesley told the story on Facebook and since her excitement is the best way of hearing the story here it is! Along with a few of my favorite photos from the day!
“Here’s the story, sorry it’s kind of long:
About a week ago Katie texted me and said “hey, my husband said he can watch the kids on Monday, wanna have a girls day?” Of course I did. I told her Rob was working that day (or so I thought) and asked her if we could do something where I could bring our dog, Paisley since I didn’t want to have to rush back home to let her out or feed her dinner etc.
Katie mentioned that Snow Line in Oak Glen had wine tasting and donuts and that dogs are allowed. So obviously I told her yes – I mean wine and donuts? How could any girl say no. Perfect girls day, right?
Katie is a professional photographer so I didn’t think much of it when she asked if she could take some pics of the dog with a new camera she just purchased. Once we got up to Oak Glen (where it was very, very cold by the way), we went in and got these amazing donuts – kind of like Redlands Market Night donuts for those of you who are familiar. Katie makes a comment about the light disappearing and we will come back for the donuts I ordered…okay…but they told me they would only take 4 minutes to be ready (they make them fresh to order).
Katie leads me to a row of apple orchards where my dog becomes obsessed with trying to eat all the fallen old apples on the ground. So I’m stumbling trying to get her to stop eating rotten apples while trying not to spill my hot apple cider I had bought to warm up. Katie suddenly stops and starts taking photos of Paisley. Ok cool. I’m now more focused on getting the dog to pose for the camera (impossible) and I see someone walk out from behind an orchard tree down the way. I instantly recognized Rob’s plaid flannel shirt and was momentarily confused. When I realized it was really him I was like “what are YOU doing here?!” All defensive. Hahaha. He had even told me how his day was at work down to “just brought a patient to the ER, it’s going good”. I truly believed he was at work! He even woke up and left the house in morning at 4:30am for his commute to Pasadena. He really drove to his parent’s house and went back to bed!
Anyway, he walked over to me smiling so big. Then I knew. He said some very sweet things, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I instantly said “yes of course!” And gave him a hug and kiss and then asked him “can I wear it? Is it really mine? It’s so perfect!” He then placed my dream ring on my finger. All the while Katie is just snapping photos and our dog continued to try to eat apples.
Rob walked back to the tree he was hiding behind and came back with a basket which had champagne, two glasses, the sign for Paisley saying “my humans are getting married” made by the talented Krissy Traustason, (guys she burned the lettering into the wood, so awesome) and some wedding planning magazines, and my “I said yes!” iPhone case from Katie.
Rob told me he had dinner reservations so we went downtown Redlands to The State for a drink to kill time and just let it all sink in, I’m curiously asking all these questions “did you ask my dad?” (Yes, of course he did – took him to dinner the night before. I thought he was helping a buddy move furniture). And “how long have you had the ring?” “Who else knows?” We laughed and enjoyed each others company until it was time to go to dinner…”
We ended up surprising Lesley again that night by having her close friends and family all waiting at the restaurant they went to celebrate. I could not have found a better guy than Rob to marry and take care of this amazing lady. I’m sure you all will hear me gush over and over again over the upcoming months while we plan their big day, but I am truly blessed to be surrounded by great people. Photographing these moments is just icing on the cake.
The day was absolutely perfect and when I say that surprise proposals are definitely my new favorite thing, I’m not lying! This whole process has reminded me to be spontaneous and of course that it is officially engagement season! Every year we do a discount for couples who are getting engaged during the holidays, but to make it even better for 2015 I decided to up the ante. 😉
So calling all engaged (or soon to be engaged) couples! This year we are offering a $400 discount to all wedding collections AND a free engagement session to 3 couples who send in their proposal story!
If you are planning a surprise proposal, contact me! I loved every moment of this engagement that I want to work with you! Contact me for details so we can get you engaged in style.
I hope you all are doing great, sorry for the super long post. My joy could not be contained!
