About Me

Hello there! I’m Katie, a Southern California based Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer for the in-love couples and families full of joy and I am so excited that you are here!

I am married to my high-school sweetheart with two littles ( +1 fur baby), world traveler and am always up for new adventures. Instead of a bunch of crazy text to try to summarize me, here are a few pretty pictures of my favorite things. If you would like to chat more about your photography needs please go to my contact form on my website, I would love to help in creating some beautiful memories for you and your loved ones.

This man is the love of my life! I fell in love with him when I was 17 years old and haven't looked back. Charlie is my best friend, protector, confidant and the one person with whom I could spend a whole weekend watching Game of Thrones, Dexter or Lost! He is an amazing husband, father, cook and new physician. I have enjoyed growing up with him and now look forward to growing old together.

Karis Alexandra

My baby girl! I could talk about my daughter for hours, her amazing attitude and zest for life light up our world on a daily basis. Karis has always loved to read, so we spend hours a day just pouring over books full of new information. She is outgoing and is always ready for the next adventure. I never knew so much joy could be bottled up into such a tiny body, but here she is!

Stellan Lukas

My littlest love! What a miniature heart throb, I almost feel sorry for all the girls in 15 years. Seriously. He melts my heart with the slightest smirk and snuggle. We now are surrounded with planes, cars and monkey toys! Lukas has been the perfect addition to our family, we are complete with his love and sweet spirit.

Preserving the Moments

Life seems to go by so quickly, especially once you have children. It has deepened my desire to capture and preserve those fleeting moments in my clients' lives whether it is a wedding day full of smiles and emotion, the anniversaries to document the continued love story or growing children who seem to change with each passing day. Life becomes a blur and creating images to look back to remember and relive is my passion.

Okay, I may not be very good at playing the sport but I am a GREAT fan! Charlie has told me on numerous occasions that I "watch sports like a man"... I'll take it as a compliment. I love rooting for my players and teams in Tennis, Basketball and Hockey.

My friends are my support system and my siblings my choice. I seriously do not know where I would be without these special people in my life. Karis and Lukas have amazing aunties and uncles with my siblings and also my friends. I have such strong and loving people that have been with us through so many ups and downs (braces, high school, car accidents, loves and medical school) and were by our sides in our biggest life moments. If I could post a picture with all of us, I would... I'll work on that.

Married to Medicine

My high school sweetheart turned college romance quickly became my husband and life long partner. Then came medical school with two little bundles of love during that chapter. Charlie graduated this past summer and is now starting his journey into his anesthesia residency. The hours are long and lonely, but I am so proud to call this dedicated man mine. Many times I am acting as a single mom, but when he is home we often hide away for some family time.

AH! Finally getting to put this out there, we are now officially booking hybrid and full film sessions! I learned on film originally way back in college and have started playing around on the side with introducing it into the business. I am THRILLED that this is finally out and we can start getting some hybrid sessions in the calendar.

Love is love and I am thrilled to work with any couple or family who has that as their primary focus. Everyone has a special love story to be told can captured and I am so thankful that we are living in a time where race, age, gender and orientation are no longer limiting the freedom for these chapters to be told.

Okay, I admit it, I am obsessed with food. I'm not even a little bit sorry for the love I have with a good vegetarian meal. This goes with coffee and wine too. Give me a pot of coffee in the morning and I am happy, then a good glass of wine to end the day.

I may live in Southern California, but I am midwest born and raised. I claim both as my home and will always be smitten with the mitten. Any chance to shoot in my home state is one worth celebrating.

I am the oldest of 5 kids in a beautifully blended family. We have grown by some husbands and kiddos! Each one of these amazing people is a blessing and I wouldn't be the person I am today without their influence.

Our first child, this fluffy one is now 7 years old. He is my constant companion and keeps a smile on my face with his sloppy kisses.

I found yoga almost 5 years ago and it has changed my life. In my practice I have been able to not only maintain a physical health that I am proud of, but also gain a new found balance in my daily routine. Mental, emotional and physical clarity are all an essential foundation to helping me navigate through my husband's medical training, raising two active little ones and running a full-time business.

This is the best season of the entire year, there is no debate. There are not enough words to describe my excitement when the first pumpkin spice latte shows up. Boots, warm chai lattes, scarves and cozy blankets are the BEST!

My family and I are obsessed with all things Disney! Having annual passes ever since Karis was a baby has been a lifeline for me to get out and have fun with the kiddos while Charlie has been busy studying. It is always a blast and full of new memories!

Mini Escapes

While Charlie has been in the craziness of medical school we have had zero time to disconnect and "unplug" from the noise. Now as we enter the next chapter of our lives we have instituted very needed "escape time" to get away from the noise and focus on creating a downtime for us and our little family. As much as I love social media and working, ensuring that life is balanced helps me be efficient and creative when its back to go time.

I may or may not have been known to spend hours browsing, playing dress up and smelling candles in here. Just saying.

If it is possible to be homesick for a place I have never lived in, it would be Paris. Since I was a little girl I have dreamed of living here and have only been able to visit a few times. I look forward to the many adventures to come in this beautiful city.
